Montreal’s Mural Festival recently came to an end, and it left the city more beautiful. From June 9th-19th, street artists from Montreal and around the world flooded St. Laurent boulevard, in a celebration of street art, music, and all things Montreal.

These incredible artists have gifted Montreal with some new and incredible murals.

X-RAY
Location: In the large parking lot between St-Laurent and Saint-Dominique.

We had the chance to speak with the artist of this mural. His name is Brian but his street name is Xray. He loves dogs and spent a bit of time chatting with us while he petted Chelsea and Matheo.

Brian was the last to finish. His location was a bit awkward being tucked in the corner in the middle of the main festival grounds surrounded by 1000’s of people. Although he had many delays, he managed to find his rhythm and finish this grand mural. Great job Brian!!

While the chosen artists were busy working on their murals, other artists lined the streets leaving their artistic mark on one of the many billboards that were set up along St-Laurent:

One of the featured mural artist was Jason Botkin and he preferred painting the sidewalks.

These murals will probably last a year before they are covered over by another artist. As one of the girls from A’Shop said “Our work is not permanent and it remains long enough for those to enjoy, until a new story reveals itself.”
